Hi, we have two tills connected via our lan both running ICR Touch V 2.547, both have a usb dongle connected for licence validation each with a differnt licence number.
When the register upstairs goes offline we cannot operate the downstairs one. We are in the middle of having renovations done, rewiring etc and are having to constantly access upstairs to power on the other register or reset the network. Is it possible to have the other register work independently yet maintain the records on both tills?

Please advise, thank you.

You can put either till to run standalone by doing an "IRC Initialise" (usually under the Manager page on the till. If the one upstairs is the 'Master' (for tables etc) then you are going to have slightly more problems. You will either need to make the downstairs one the Master while the upstairs one is out of commission (remembering to swap it back afterwards), or just physically swap the two tills over.

On making the downstairs one the master and the upstairs one as the satellite will all the database etc then be recorded/saved to the downstairs one?
It records sales & loyalty points of members, both are used for the exact same function. We dont want to swop the master to downstairs as its used less often but has a number of small issues with the touch screen having dead area's.

Thank you

You cannot guarantee that, no. IT is possible to copy that sort of information from one to the other, but on a version as old as yours I'd be very dubious about trying to do it.

As an ICR reseller it is the sort of thing that we would usually help our maintenance customers sort out, but trying to do it yourself could easily result in some problems and I wouldn't want to be blamed for that.

Why not just move the till from upstairs to somewhere downstairs where it can stay connected to the network but not used until the upstairs area is finished with instead?

Regards,

Simon

Is it possible to have both connected directly 'till to till' without being on the lan via crossover cable or switch then?
