UP-X300 connection Issue

Hi All,
I am attempting for the first time to connect my UP-X300 to the outside world, or at least to a PC so I can evaluate some software called SharpLynx.
In POS Programming/System Setting/Administrator/Terminal I have set the IP Address and Subnet mask to what I require them to be, and the terminal is set as a stand alone POS Server.
It does not however appear on the network using these settings, which are correct for my LAN, so is there somewhere else I have missed that needs to program to allow this please ?
