windows 10 is a horrendous choice for EPOS.
Picture the scene - a busy Saturday afternoon and you have a sale - both your checkouts are queued out of the door.
To "enhance" your customer experience, Microsoft push one of their - now unstoppable - windows 10 updates....... bye bye till - for up to an hour - and just prey it works when update is over - which in my experience is not always the case!

Just for future reference we had this issue, we have since disabled the windows update service. Every month or so we re-enable the service to download and install the updates then disable it again. Not ideal i know but prevents having no epos system at critical times.
With a bit of tweaking, Windows 10 updates are quite manageable. The systems we put out there will simply download any updates in the background and then reboot at 4am for any that need it. Since we figured out the right way to do it we've had no issues with random reboots during trading times.
