I have picked up a Sps-520FT and apart from a failed back up battery in full working order except the touch screen wont turn off at Reg Off position. Rear screen goes off and keyboard becomes inactive suggesting key switch assembly is fine. Running firmware 1.17.
Screen is fully functional as is the till and programming.
Any clues ? Been thro the settings extensively.
I have 2 530s and another 520 with slightly newer firmware that do not carry this issue.

(silly question i know - but these things kind of "queue" commands if you run out of paper)
if theres no paper in it, you may find it will suddenly burst into life once a roll is installed, the platen is closed firmly and the c button is pressed.
Yes it all prints fine.
I've solved the issue.
The flexi ribbon between screen and board had an issue. The ends of the ribbon were slightly detached so not connecting properly. Carefully trimming and inserting carefully solved the issue completely.

was it the fine brown one? or the more substantial white one?
