Hello,

I have recently been asked to investigate the use of two new till systems, specifically the SAM4S NR-510B.

As we have two of these systems I would be interested to learn if they can be connected together to correlate their stock "live" as it were.

I fear this may not be the case, so also would like to know if there is a way to interface with these machines from Linux?

Any info on the above would be greatly helpful.

Thanks in advance.

they are not designed to be connected together. However, as a work around, you could purchase multi-site Samstock, create 2 sites and attach both tills to two different rs232 ports.

Thanks for confirming, I had suspected that was the case.

I know it's not necessarily the done thing, but if there any avenue to interface with these machines through open software?

Cheers.

if you can decypher the output from the ports, and write the code and program to do it - then I guess all things are possible though it's far beyond me !dunce
