Thank you for your reply. I will open the PC up again and have a look on friday since I am very busy until then.

Once I have found out the BIOS I will let you know what the problem is and hopefully we may be able to fix it.

Thank you in advance for your help. :)

Hi.

Unfortuately without XN ABS this till will be useless as you need the software to run an extract to the till to make it useable along with the fact that it is in constant communication with the BOS/FOS.

I would be very interested to find out where you got this till and BOS...

You will need XN ABS to update the menu and good MS SQL knowledge to edit/update the menu.

I work with these things daily. Any questions PM me, I'm pretty confident I can answer them.

wouldnt the 254 key put the till in standalone mode? this was meant to be the practice for making the RT usable should there be an issue with the back office

Sorry for not replying for a while.

I'm not sure if I have a 254 key as the system uses swipe cards and I cannot see any numbers on them, unlike the good old long plastic keys of the Bass Retail System, which had the server numbers stamped on them! :D

Djmonster, you confirmed what I was thinking, that the tills are useless without the BOS PC. I just wonder if I can swap the hard drives into a working PC? I got the tills from a bar which was closing down, a good friend worked there and XN never wanted the tills back and they were heading for a skip so I decided to save them!

I would be inclined to look at replacing the system as these machines could be over 12 years old and spare parts are depleting fast. :)
