If the zero key isn't working then it's got nothing to do with PLU programming.

look up F1 & F0
keyboard toggle in the manual - if its a programming issue, then it wont be incorrect on both keyboards
As Simon has stated - its an ancient machine - though very good in its day, you will never find anyone with replacement parts for that - let alone something as fragile as a keyboard membrane.

Good shout, I forgot all about the keyboard toggle on the old machines. It's been over four years since I last touched a Uniwell.

ANDY i think you are on to something... i was able to toggle the machine to the programmable key selection. when i do so the zero button works but when i go back to R key it again responds to tax 1 department (same as Tax 1 PLU key). my question is how to unlink the zero while I'm in programmable key selection.

not sure if I made sense
