Good afternoon,

Just a quick heads-up to anyone using FTP with our X300 Ecr / Stock Manager software that there is a bug in Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (NOT in our software) that prevents FTP communications from working when this browser is installed.

Further information about this Microsoft bug may be found at the following website, and probably elsewhere.

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1968 ... -functions

The easiest work around for the time being for any X300 sites experiencing this issue is to uninstall Internet Explorer 11 from your back office PC.

In common with many other software houses who rely on FTP, we are waiting for Microsoft to resolve this issue properly, and I will report back via this forum if they do.

Best regards,

Good Afternoon,

Just a quick "update" on the FTP bug in Internet Explorer 11, namely:

(1) Microsoft have acknowledged the problem & are apparently working on a solution, but have not committed to a date when this will be ready.

(2) MANY other software vendors have been affected by this bug, as may be seen by the complaints on the Microsoft website:

https://connect.microsoft.com/IE/feedba ... ed-in-ie11

(3) The workaround for now remains to uninstall Internet Explorer 11 (Internet Explorer 10 is OK)

(4) Sharp Pos (X500) sites using FTP with the EPOS terminal as client should NOT be affected, as they are running an embedded version of Windows XP that will not allow Internet Explorer 11 to be installed.

I'll keep checking the Microsoft site and report back when they finally fix the bug.

Best regards,

Graham
