Sharp UP-820N
Hi there.
I am looking for two things for this register.
1. Location of Ram add on slot
2. Location of Battery
Also if you have a link to a pdf that has the instructions for adding the ram or replacing the battery. Eg. what covers and screws to remove for access. I have scoured the web and I am only able to find the model number for the ram. And one pdf doc that does state there is a battery.
I have read quite a few posts that mention the battery but do not even give me any detail as to its location or how to get at it. Let alone what type it is.
I want to upgrade the ram for obvious reasons, as for the battery I am using a good UPS at the moment and have everything backed to SD card in case of power failure. But I would feel a lot better if I could replace the darn thing.
I do not understand why simple information like this is not easily available. It is almost treated like state secrets.
Anyways. Thank you for your time.

I did not get the answers I wanted.
1. I cannot get the battery locally so I no longer care. Since everything is backed up to SD card it is simply a matter of 5-10 minutes of restoring the data and your back in business,
2. As for the added ram, it is no longer needed. Because since the register was reset and everything had to be entered again manually, we have tons of room.
Like I said getting info on this thing is like trying to find out who killed JFK.A user provided the info I needed to get back up, but asked that I not spread the info. Since they helped me, I am honoring that request.
Good luck on your inquest, You can find the ram stick just by opening the case. Eventually you will run into the battery as well.
I did not have the time I needed, but I was given the code to get into the menu and reset the register. And I am not about to bite the hand that helped me.
