cashback and clerk interrupt

I have an ER-5200M. I have a PLU set to HASH for giving cashback to a customer. I also have set a button as P/O 1 for actually taking the cash out of the till. All works well until we have a clerk interrupt situation. The Z1 Financial report is now wrong. Whereas the HASH TTL should be the same as the P/O 1, it is not. When clerk interrupt is not used (quite days), the totals are the same. Anyone know why? Thanks.

you cant use paid out in this way as it will reduce your overall takings by the amount of cash back - when all you are doing is effectively swapping cash for card.

all you need to do is process the sale to the point that the customer is paying his bill [so why are you interrupting a sale at that point anyway?]

say the sale comes to £15.67......... [as shown by sub total.] at this point, simply train staff to ask the customer if they require cash back - if they say yes please ill have £20.00 simply ring £35.67 into the credit card button - the drawer will open and change of £20.00 will show on the screen. hand the £20.00 to the customer as cash - simples!

no idea why you are making a simple common sense procedure so complicated!

Andy, Thanks for your comments.
Perhaps I didn’t explain very well.
I do cashback as recommended by ‘till engineer’, and I quote from one of his posts:-
“Cash back is not simple and will need a double entry.
The cash back amount needs to be a HASH plu, these by default add to bill but not the reports. This sorts out the customer, however your drawer total will be wrong, to fix this you then need to do a paid out.
Note: HASH plu’s do report to the financial report however this figure does not effect gross or net”
All works correctly, including the financial report (if an interrupt has NOT been done).

We are a bar and as such the till is not next to the customer so at the point of SBTL, the staff then go to the customer at which point another member of staff needs to use the till so that’s why we have the till interrupt.
As I say, all works well apart from the financial report after using the interrupt.

lol ok - I don't quite understand the "that sorts out the customer" bit !dunce
I think he must have been replying to a specific request to record cash back - which then does indeed encounter all the issues he goes on to explain.
in your case, once a transaction is interrupted, audaction cannot be used.

my way is far simpler as I still don't see how a paid out can be justified to the accountants - or indeed the inland revenue? !what
