Ill try the cross over cable !thumbs ...had finally submitted to programming it on the register to get it done, its not ideal though.

Couple of questions I cant figure out. I need to have a function to allocate/ring off spoilage as a negative, as well as a function to input volunteer purchases but so a payment isnt required. I thought about a discount for that but can only see a maximum of 99.9%

We currently use programmed departments for our pricing. I saw an age function but cant find reference to what it is used for? Is it birth age or stock age aka spoilage?

Any thoughts on how I can achieve what I want would be appreciated.

For the ML-780 backup, you need a PCMCIA to CF card adaptor (the pcmcia slot is in the front of the cash register). Then you need an old compact flash memory card as seen in older cameras mostly - I have used up to a 64mb card successfully but have not tried larger.

Format the card using the 780, and backup all data. This can then be loaded into another 780, change the machine number and ip address and ur done.

Also the ML-780s I have seen have an ethernet port so you can connect them to a standard lan network - you do not need an RS232 cable.
