Casio QT-2000
My dad is trying to resurrect his Casio QT-2000 cash till register from the late 1990s. Does anyone know whether this needs a clock battery of what type? Also, is it possible to install Chinese OS on this? Otherwise, anyone got a manual for this?
Great machines in their day but most started to have RAM failure. The backup battery is a VL2032 Vanadium Pentoxide Lithium battery. If you are handy with a soldering iron, get a battery with solder tags on it (some have tags, some not) and solder it on to the old battery leads. It may have a stack of cells in the old battery pack but you only need one cell unless you want long backup life when the mains is turned off. To open it, two screws under the rubber cover and then slide the keyboard to lift. If it has lost the memory already, you'll need to RAM clear (initialize) it. I don't remember much about programming these but there is a site with all of the manuals - https://the-checkout-tech.com/manuals/c ... Casio4.php
Thank you so much.
I google searched the battery and it suggested VL3032 not VL 2032. Just wanting to confirm?

I see no battery panel or normal screws
