Hi,

I'm fairly sure you program the keycode or keyboard in the initial setup and don't think it can be changed unless you set it back to factory defaults.

As for the keyboard, I think you will be right in saying that the PLU number that comes up is the actual PLU number.

A PLU can be programmed to any key you like with the following procedure, I would try 1 or 2 first before you go mad and do them all ;)

Turn the key to SP
Key in 101
Press X2
Enter the PLU number that you want to allocate
Press the Decimal Point key
Press the actual key on your keyboard where you want this PLU to go
Press Cl twice to finish

Hope this helps

Regards

At the moment, the button I want to use doesn't seem to be set up to do anything - when I press it, it just gives the continuous tone until the CL key is pressed.

Following these instructions, when I press the button I want to assign the (42) PLU to, the display shows FC 042 124.
Pressing the CL key for the first time clears the display, and the second press gives a beep.
Turning the key to R and pressing the new "42" key, I just get a long continuous tone till I press CL.

On the adjacent buttons thing, do I just programme the same PLU to the second button without entering name and price info?

The currently set-up keys give each button a different number that appears when I press the individual buttons underneath, but the 88 report shows only the first one for each pair has the pricing info:
P---1#
Filled Rolls
1# -98-
1P 1.10
2P . 0
F1-00000000
F2-00000000
F3-00000000
F4-00000000
GA Group-A-01
GB Group-B-01

P---2#
Filled Rolls
2# -98-
1P . 1
2P . 1
F1-00000000
F2-00000000
F3-00000000
F4-00000000
GA Group-A-01
GB Group-B-01

Further on, there are PLUs assigned but I can't find the key which accesses them - not a biggie, because we don't have that many items to sell! There are also different permutations of the 1P/2P pricing (some have . 1 in both, others have . 1 and . 0

Hi,

I think at some point they have started to program 2 individual PLUs and program them onto 2 seperate keys as you first suggested. But they have definately changed their mind and just allocated the same PLU number 1 say onto 2 seperate keys on the keyboard.

When you say you program PLU 42 and it shows 'FC 042 124' that means it's working so it's strange that it doesn't work, can you do the 88 report and tell me exactly what it prints for PLU 42, just like you have done for PLU 1 in your previous post.

The prices part should all be in 1P. It wouldn't matter if there was anything entered in 2P because thats a second level price. The idea is you can give all PLUs 2 prices, then you can switch all PLUs into 2nd prices level for a set period of time, then switch it back - Just like a happy hour for example.

The principle really of the PLUs is you can allocate the exact same code to as many different keys as you like, so you could program 2 PLUs. give them both the same price and allocate them seperately but you are just doubling the work load. The easier way is to only program the PLU name and price once, then allocate it to 2 different keys with the 111 program.

I hope this makes sense, it's difficult to explain in text some times. :D

Thank you for your patience and ongoing support.

When you mention the "111 programme", do you mean "101"?

The strange thing is that each "occupied" key on the till generates a different PLU number as in my example above - i.e. #1, #2, but shows the same product. That really isn't a big problem though - we only use the till once a year for this charity event so I can live very easily with that.

The 88 report shows this for #42:
P---42#
PLU-NAME 0042
42# -98-
1P . 0
2P . 0
F1-00000000
F2-00000000
F3-00000000
F4-00000000

(Note, no Group A or Group B info, in case that matters? The A/B detail stops at PLU 40, which is the highest number we have in use.)

Hi,

Ah, I see were I've misled you. There are 2 procedures and I've only given you one of them.

To allocate a PLU to the keyboard has 2 programming codes, the first is:
Turn the key to SP
Key in 101
Press X2
Enter the PLU number that you want to allocate
Press the Decimal Point key
Press the actual key on your keyboard where you want this PLU to go
Press Cl to finish

Then you need to do this:
Turn the key to SP
Key in 111
Press X2
Enter the PLU number that you want to allocate
Press the Decimal Point key
Press the actual key on your keyboard where you want this PLU to go
Press Cl to finish.

Also, the PLU 42 you mention has no group link, it must be linked to a group or it will not work, this is how you link a PLU to a group:

Turn the key to SP
Key in 203
Press X2
Enter the PLU number that you want to change
Press the Decimal Point key
Enter the group number that you want to link it to, if you are unsure just use 1
Press X2
Press X2
Press Cl to finish

Hope this makes sense.
