Uniwell SX700 Programming Issue

Hi,
I have recently taken over a pub with 2 SX700 cash registers and have tried to reprogram them. When changing the keyboard layout it won't allow me to overwrite a Look-up PLU button with a single PLU. I only have the 4-digit managers code to access the programming menu's and don't have the engineer code, would that make a difference or am I doing something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The problem here is that you have function keys for 'HARD PLU' and function keys for 'LOOKUP' buttons, you must reprogram the button to be a LOOKUP rather than be a HARD PLU.

If you have access to KEYBOARD LAYOUT in the Program List - you can change the function keys there.

Thanks for the reply, I can access FLEXIBLE KEY LAYOUT and that lets me reprogram Function Keys, Hard PLU's and LookUp PLU's wherever I want, the problem comes when I try to assign an individual PLU. I have to go through PLU MENU in the program list and it allows me to overwrite other PLU's but if I try to assign a PLU on a button that has a LookUp PLU on it I just get a beep but it doesn't overwrite the button. I have redesigned my layout and just want to change some old unused food menu's to individual products.

Hi,

Yes - you must assign a HARD PLU to the key first before you can assign a PLU.

There is a setting (System Flag 20 bit H) which changes how the HARD PLUS work, they are either fixed (and use HARD PLU = PLU) or flexible (HARD PLU = any PLU)
If SF20h is YES, then you can assign any PLU to any HARD PLU key.
If SF20h is NO, then you can only sell PLUxx with HARDPLU xx

Do you want to assign a single PLU to the key or add a PLU to an existing lookup?

HI,

SF20h was set to 'yes', but I didn't know I had to overwrite everything with a Hard PLU first, that worked straight away.
Thanks very much for the help
