Hi guys,

The company I work for has just opened a new bar, and among all of the other junk we've "inherited" we've got a Uniwell SX 700. The only screen I can currently get it to display is "IR DONE, SETUP REQUIRED", with a load of question marks and symbols along the bar at the top and bottom of the screen. I've tried resetting by turning the power off and holding three keys (4th row from the top on the left hand side) but can't seem to get any further. I'm not sure how hopeful this endeavour is, but if working it would definitely be a bonus so if anyone has any insight that would be fantastic!

Thanks, Chris

That message means the till has no program in memory. Unless you've got experience in programming these things, you've got a very long road ahead of you.

Thanks for replying. I'm not sure how realistic it is then, however I'd consider myself reasonably handy with such things and am prepared to give it a go since there's nothing to lose by doing so apart from maybe some time! I don't mind if it's laborious, I'm just curious at the moment about whether or not it's even possible.

Thanks,

Chris

I am in a similar position as this and getting the random symbols at the top of the screen. Where is the best place to start with getting it set up?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Griffin,

Your machine sounds like it has lost the entire program. It may also have a faulty on-board battery, or possibly just corruption.

I assume that you've never set an EPoS machine up before? You can purchase the manual - there's links on the forum - but it is not a simple thing to do and you would probably be better off getting some professional advice from a local EPoS company.
