Uniwell DX 895 Treansaction/receipt x z stops printing
Hi, I am having problems with the receipts not printing 1st of all it has started printing randomly. I have switched off and on and on occasions it comes back on. I have tryed to do a x and z it starts printing then stops before the end can anyone help it's driving me mad. At first I though that one of the staff had pressed the wrong buttons but i think there may be more to it than this. ( I forgot to add an error message appears afterwards saying KP error)
Regards Dave.
is there a long run of cable between the machine and the printer? or are there lots of electrical devices running on the same circuit?
it sounds like the till is sending data either faster than the printer can cope with or in amounts larger than the print buffer can cope with. check baud rate on printer and tills slow them both down to the lowest possible setting see if that helps.
Hi Andy I will just try and give you a bit more info. This set up has been in place for the last 6 years at this moment in time it is not printing anything, but i may switch it off then back on and try and print a z or an x and it starts to print then stops 1/2 way down. If i try and print a receipt it does nothing then comes up with the error message KP error we dont actually have a KP there is only one printer on the system. It is set up on the system with 2 seperate prices one for delivery one for shop and i think the one for delivery is called KP. hope you can understand this message.
I cant try what you advised at this moment the shop is too busy and we only have one till. I dont really need to print much off during the day just occasionally if I get asked for a receipt I need it mainly for my own records x and Z etc
kp error is just a way of reporting errors - it knows its a reciept printer really
if its been fine for years, it could be a hardware issue. You may need to let your local till guy have a look!
things you can try are cleaning the contacts on the cables, perhaps checking the cable itself [ the short rj45 to 9 way converters were always proiblematical - not to mention expensive!
try replacing the cable if you can get access to one.
