Uniwell DX 895 Noob Help
Hi there,
I have recently been given the role to program our 2 tills. Our set up is as follows. We have 2 x DX895 with 1 x Kitchen Printer. They are all connected via RJ45 to our network switch. The company that supplied these tills has since gone bust and we no longer have a service contract with them. We are a pub that focuses on food in the day time and are very busy on a thur/fri/sat night.
I have managed to get my head around adding new PLUs and different price levels but I am having a few problems with other function that I need the till to do.
For example we have a new offer :- Anyone over the age of 60 gets: Buy 1 get 2nd half price on a selected meals. I have briefly brushed on mix and match table and made a test PLU (10040) with is within the food GRP. I made a mix and match table as follows :
Name:Multisave 2
Table Type 7 *- see below
Factor: 2
Discount: 2
I used function code 122 (PLUs) and on the PLU changed mix & match to 2. I went back into REG mode and when I click the button 2 times it doesnt discount the second one and Im not sure why.
I have brought a simple programming guide from this website but it doesnt really go into any details on how to use the function, just explain what they do.
I usually work things out for myself but have never really come across such a stange setup, My manager will not pay for Back office software or for any training so I am relying on some help.
Is there any guides anyone knows of that explains how to use functions? If anyone can help with any of this it would be eternally grateful!

Hi,
Mix and match is pretty complex on the Uniwell, but it does sound like you have pretty much worked it all out for yourself. I think the only thing you might be doing wrong is the discount type, it probably shouln't be 7 that you are using as that one looks at the groups rather than the PLUs.
It might be worth setting one up as Type 4 which is buy x and get a set discount, if that works fine at least you know mix and match is working and that you just need to get the right offer type setup.
Table 7 is more used for like a meal deal type scenario, like in a shop where you have any sandwich, any crisps and any drink for £2.50 or whatever, each of the sandwiches would be in their own group, all the drinks in their groupd and all the crisps in their group which is not really what you are trying to achieve.
I hope that helps a little.
Thank you.
I'm trying to do the very same thing, but I was trying to use table type 8 - Sell X number of the same group at a Fixed Price.
Noticed in SP-146 that it will only go up to table 7 so changed the Mix and Match to table 7 and set that up to sell 6 of the same at a fixed price.
But again it doesnt work.
The set up I have is TX-850's using Total Control (I also have PLM2000).
Update
I can get it to do 2 for X price (as Till Doctor said it uses groups) but the 5 of the items are in one group (both major group and sub group) hence I was wanting to use Mix and Match table type 8 which would sell 6 of the same group at X price.
Is there a way of uploading additional table types to the EPOS unit or via Total Control? or... a way of uploading table type 8 to the EPOS units as it currently only recognises table types 0 - 7.
