we're replacing the system with a couple of android till units that I'm writing myself (writing till / inventory software is what I do in the dayjob - assisting the landlord is a "hobby")

It's a shame I can't somehow get round this - I just need the displays to limp on for a few more weeks!

Unfortunately this is a common fault. We have replaced hundreds of screens over the last few years. The older TX870's didnt have this problem.

The clear button cannot be moved and is the most common button to be pressed as it is in the same place for lookups, reports and programming.

Getting parts for screens has got even more difficult as Uniwell UK went bust again. We now get our screens from the US.

Good luck with your Android device.

We don't seem to have a problem getting screens - have a supplier in the UK we can get them from.

@SiddlySid - Whereabouts are you based?

we're based just south of york.

I've got hold of one screen for now for 70 quid. Am about 6 weeks away from having the android units where I want them - we're going to replace one screen and go for the other if it's fine as a stop gap.

Have to say, I'm quite chuffed with the cost of android and the facilities it's going to provide. Looking at around ~£300 per unit for touch screen & ethernet receipt printer. Depending on how it goes, might just have to make it available to others!
