Hi

We have 2 tx-875 machines with touch screens nearing end of life. Each one has a dead zone in a different area.

As a short term measure, I was wondering if there is any way to add a clear button somewhere else on a plu lookup screen (on the condiment screen, it's at the bottom).

The clear button is becoming very difficult to use. Can I put a macro button on there or something as a plu to do the same job?

Can I just move the dam clear button?

Any ideas greatly appreciated. We've got the basic manual from here and have gone through all the options in engineer mode, but I'm stumped to be honest!!!

thanks

Hello there,

The condiment screen Clear button is fixed and can't
be moved. Have you try to calibrate the screen ?

Calibrating screen makes no difference. It's dead pixels. Location of condiments clear is fine! Is there anyway I can have a dummy product that works as a clear button

The clear button can only be moved on the
Main keyboard layout and fixed on both lookup and condiment.
I have not come across a function key or a dummy product
that can act as a clear button.

To be totally honest, your best bet is to just replace the touch-screen. You refer to "Dead Pixels", but that would be a visual problem on the LCD panel, not a physical problem on the touch-screen itself. The most likely cause is simple old age. They can be damaged by liquid ingress, but the location of the issue tends to suggest just wear-and-tear.

Touch screens aren't particularly cheap, but it's a lot less than replacing a system if it is still doing what you need it to.
