Trying to Program a DX 895
Hello, I am working with a new restaurant that has a Uniwell DX 895 but the only person who new anything about it only helped with the opening of the restaurant and is now gone. Unfortunately there are many wrong prices and no table layout among other things. I found an operators manual, but for the life of me I cannot find a programming manual. Can anyone help me in finding one? Also, I guess I need an engineer code to be able to make any changes? There is no documentation here about the register other than the manual I downloaded so is there a way to get the engineer code? Is it specific to the register? Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,
I'm no expert on programming, but I was able to figure out a system with two DX-895's, just by taking my time and carefully reading (this site was very helpful). Look for a copy of PLM 2000. It is Uniwell's free programming software, and it has a good programming guide. PLM 2000 can be used to program your registers if they can be connected to a computer (search this forum for help with that), otherwise just looking things up in the included manual can help point you in the right direction. Plus it lists the factory-set engineers code (assuming no one changed it). Good luck!
Be carefull with PLM2000.
If your using a DX895-06 then although PLM2000 will talk to the till, collect the program and allow you to change bits and pieces when you send the PLUs back it will corrupt them.
If your using a DX895-03 then PLM will work fine.
The 06 is more common in the UK.

The Australian Lynx software uses PLM2000 as its comms tool. Thus meaning it wont work properly with all the UK 06 versions. It will however work with 03 versions but then you can use PLM2000 for that and wont need Lynx free.
If you can get hold of a copy of Unilite it might work but this is something I have not seen for years.
