Hey all,

Quick Question....

I have my SX700 working pretty much spot on now, however I can't get it to do a Z report... when I turn the key to Z1/P, and log on as Clerk 1, it gives me a menu which looks just like the Engineer menu, and no options to produce a report. X is working fine. I haven't bought a printer as yet, but just doing X to the LCD.... How do I make it so that the Z is the same, and resets the totals for the day?

Just doing my head in a little now :(

Thanks x

It's not possible. To do a 'Z' report you must have a printer setup.

If there is no printer configured then 'Z' mode won't let you generate reports - for fairly obvious reasons.
If there is a printer configured then you will see the options, but it will fail as the printer isn't connected and won't reset totals.

There is no way round that - 'Z' reports are a legal requirement, so it has to work that way.

Right, gotcha. I now have a printer, runs on ethernet, just need to pop to Maplins for an x-over cable (mine has vanished somewhere really safe), so will let you know how I get on.

Does that "Engineer-esq" Menu vanish then when the printer is set up?

Thanks for clarifying :)

That "Engineer-esq" menu probably indicates the clerk you are logging on as is configure to be able to make programming changes - which are done from the Z1/P position. This is normally set up to allow specific users to make basic changes, such as prices, date/time, clerks without having to give them the Engineer code.

That makes sense then, I did find the option to allow programming in X, but couldn't see one to disable it in Z1/P that was all...
