I work for a Sharp dealership, but the after sales support from the Uniwell dealer in our area is hopeless, so I often get calls from frustrated customers needing support.

I have a customer with a SX700 with a faulty printer. The printer is a uniwell TP... unit that seems to be using an RJ45 cable connector. I can replace it with an Epson TMT88, but was wondering if anyone could provide me with a manual or even the steps for configuring the parameters for the printer, also is the serial cable just the standard serial cable?

Happy to return the favour if someone needs help with Sharp.

Many Thanks

Hi Mate,

I deal with Uniwell parts and consumable items.
You cant use a normal standard serial printer cable as the Uniwell tills pin out are different.
I'll PM the cost

How 'faulty' is the TP? I assume it is a TP-832 (the old RS-485 interface on a thermal printer)?

Replacing it with a TM-T88 shouldn't be a problem at all, but the serial cable is not a standard one. There are a couple of guys on here who sell these cables at a reasonable price - I work for a dealer as well and can supply if needed.

The flag settings aren't massively difficult either, I can even send you a copy of the manual if you wish.
