Hi
I have one of these machines and as soon as i turn it on i get the "Head up" alarm.

i have made sure that it is down and got paper in it and had a good look to see that all the connections are made.

is there any thing else i should be looking at?

Can any of you guys help me out with this?

Cheers

had this myself last friday!
though it should just stop showing the error when the head is put down, i had to perform an initial reset before the error would go away.
cant promise it will fix yours but theres nothing to lose and its free right?

unfortunately, yes i do
the entire memory is wiped :o
456 is an initial reset, you seem to have performed a full ram clear :o
from the screen that you are on, you need to perform another initial reset, sign on using the engineer code and perform a 9904 followed by several other 9000 codes [its been too long ago for me to remember them but the procedure is something like:
ram clear [9904 i think]
load demo program [9999?]
delete plu file [9????]
start programming to your requirements.

i would seriously consider deferring any more programming than the above untill the machine has been plugged in and powered up for 24hrs - then unplugged for a further 24 hours and retested. If you didn't ram clear the machine, then the batteries that hold the memory are either just flat [from prolonged lack of mains power] or at the end of their serviceable life
[and need replacing by an engineer]

whatever the condition of the batteries, i'm afraid that you have a long uphill struggle in front of you

good luck
