SX-705, PLM 2000 and PC
Hi all,
since days I am trying to get the SX-705 connected to my PC. I have rechecked all cables and pins based on the posted RS232 to Uniwell Serial port, checked all the serial settings on my computer and the PLM software but can not connect. I always get a time-out error and I am more than frustrated...
I read that there are user settings in the ECR which need to be set that the ECR is accepting the port B as a serial port. but I can not find any reference to what and how to set those.
Is there any body out there who can help?
I am at the stage where I just gave up and the ECR is sitting sadly under my desk, serving soon as a footrest...
Any help is appreciated...
If your (special) Uniwell lead is correct you need to make the board rate the same on both the till and the PC.
You can try between the 19200 and 38400 on the software 1st as this is standard for most setups.
If that doesn't work go into SP-113-System Function Flags and choose flag 31.
A-B-C all NO is 38400
A-YES & B-C-NO that's 19200
Reset the till and try comms again.
Be carefull if you have an 06 Version of till as I think PLM2000 will mess up your PLUS. The 06 has 6 price levels and PLM only supports 3 price levels and puts the PLU flags in the wrong place.

RESET
Turn power off
Using your M key turn to SP
You now need to hold 3 buttons down. Go-to the bottom left hand corner of the keyboard. Go 3 rows up, hold that button, the button next to it and the button next to that.
While holding the 3 buttons down turn the machine back on.
You will here 4/5 bleeps and depending on the version of your till you may see IR Done (initial Reset).
Flag 90 Channel B
Ignore it, just make sure its all NO's. Flag 31 will do everything you need for PC comms.
Flag 31 is for PC serial comms where as Flag 90 is more for connecting a serial printer to the terminal.
Hope this helps.
