So I was playing around with our ePOS Office Software as I wanted to see what I could do with it, and now when I try to upload the end of day it says there is a key violation... I am wondering if there is an easy way to fix this? We use PLM 2000 to actually program the registers, not ePOS office.

Thanks!

Jocelyn

Some errors can be easily fixed by a closing and re-opening the software or a simple re-boot of the PC.

If the error continues when does it happen? As your going into the software or opening a particular part?

Thanks for your reply.

The error happens when I hit the lightning bolt to upload reports. In a database a key violation usually means that when you're importing data the key's don't match so I'm wondering if I've somehow changed the data in ePOS Office, but I'm not sure how to fix that, or what keys are important to be the same.

I have tried restarting the program and the computer but it's still the same error.

OK long shot but there could well be correuption in a polled report.

If you open C:UniwellePOS Officedata and search for a file called report.dta.

Rename the file to anything you want and then try and re-poll your tills.

The report.dta file will hold all unprocessed reports from tills.

If its not that it could be how you connecting to the tills. If you use a serial port has the software lost its comm port settings etc. You can check this in POS and SITE MAP. If there is a comm port, does it actually exist on the PC.

Can you send to the tills?

Hmmm... I cannot find a report.dta file

The ECRs downstairs are connected to the computer upstairs by ethernet through a hub, they send their files to an FTP site that the back office software then uploads the files from. The reports are in the FTP site folder, but when I try to upload them into the back office software, hitting the lightning bolt, that's when I get the key violation error. That makes me thing that I must have changed something somewhere so it can't upload the info into the database. We use PLM200 to actually program the tills, can I somehow make a file from there that I can import into the back office software to make them the same if that is the error? Or maybe I can make a new file and start again?

Thanks for your thoughts.
