It's not a "stupid system", it is put in place to stop people from cloning the software. Unfortunately it occasionally catches out someone who is in the same position as you are, but that is why maintanence contracts exist - they cover you for all this sort of thing.

I'll PM you my details and can get you a quote on Monday if you like to get the software re-licenced and the latest version issued.

USD charges to re-issue a license so either way you will have to pay. No way around it. The amount you get charged depends on your supplier and how much they choose to charge to get it re-issued.

Your license is based on the hardware profile of your PC and hardware changes will affect your license. Your supplier should have mentioned this to you. They are all aware of USD's procedure for issuing licenses. Usually they ask you to wait 30 days to issue an activation code to make sure you are going to stay on that specific hardware.

You can request your installer go in through engineering code and reset the registration so you can at least work for the 30 day trial period using your old registration details until USD issues the new activation code.

+1 This ^^^^^

I hadn't even thought - you're totally locked out of your system right now I guess. If you have remote access on your system (Teamviewer or similar) then I can quite happily connect and do this for you - give you the time to decide on your next step - for free.

its annoying though as we paid for the software and tills yet we still have to pay again for the 3rd time to use the software(i think that is bad) :(, the hard drive lasted 8 years so had a good run lol, the harddrive is still accesible but when booted it starts fine but then falls over no blue screen :( i can access all on it
