Hello Everyone,

One of my CCCTV customers has 5 Uniwell DX-895, I was there when they were put in and they link to the CCTV system,

The customer has rang me up asking can I look at one of the tills. Apparently its been unplugged for over a year, when it is turned on you get the press here and there to align the screen, but then it says setup required,

I have downloaded the operations manual but that's of no use, as I can do all the PLU's, Staff names and codes, Screen Layout and all that stuff from the Back office software, I just need to set it up to the point where I can then send the info over to it,

Does anyone know where I can get a Installation Manual, I'm not sure what I need to set up, I know I need to add the IP address and the unit name. Would there be anyway to just copy over the main settings from another till and paste them over then just change a few bit, to be honest as you can tell I'm very unsure as this is a bit out of my depth

Any help will be much appreciated,

Many Thanks

Simon

If you are competent enough to set up the IRC and IP address, SP 200 & 201 then the base IRC stuff, SF 45, 66, 125 & 126 to fit in with other tills then you could easily push the program from one machine to the other.

If it's been off for a year I would leave it plugged in for 24 hours first to make sure the internal battery is charged though.

Doesn't take much to set it up for receiving a program. I would be concerned that the battery may not be up to much since it lost its program so I would try to avoid turning it off in future.

The set up should be run in a specific way some versions of the dx flash had a big where by if you didn't do a test after seeing up memory allocation comms would be suspect.

First of all you'll need to log in as engineer in sp, select engineer diagnostics and perform a destructive ram test. After it finishes the ram test press clear and it will reset and require a calibration.
In sp again login as engineer and run initial setup. This will set up a lot of the till for you.
Next login as engineer go to Sp 113 system flags> sf 45 and set irc system to yes and ethernet to yes.
Clear back to the main programming list and select sp112 maximums. This is where we allocate memory. It is important that we set the maximums to the same as the full you are sending the program from.
Come out of maximums and go to sp200 identifiers. Enter the correct individual machine number and make irc id the same.
Uniwells automatically create an ip based on your machine number unless you specify otherwise. You can check weather your other tills are using 'id in ip' by checking the Programmed IP bit in system flag sf66. If this is set to no them you do not need to specify your own Ip. If it is set to yes then you will need to specify an Ip in sp201.

Log off and turn the key back to R. Cycle the power by turning off for a couple of seconds and then back on. This tests the ethernet card. Following this perform an initial reset and levee the till in r.

ON THE TILL YOU PLANNING TO SEND FROM log in as engineer in sp and select 8800 from irc prog funcs. Press enter twice in it will run an irc check. Hopefully the list it prints or will include the machine number of the newly set up till. You will now be able to Program All Data from the irc prog funds list.

Sorry for way in which this is written but I did it on my phone with predictive text on.
