Hi Guys

Ive managed to get hold of one of these units with a printer and cash drawer. The unit has been set back to factory defaults and im having trouble getting the printer to print and to kick the drawer.

The printer does actually print something but it is all gobbledegook.

if anyone can help it would be very much appreciated. If you need any other info please ask.

i have programed an sx 7000 from scratch so i am prepared for the worse

Cheers
Iain

Hi Iain
I'm not that good with Uniwell but if you have the printer printing anything then its almost set up.
is it anrs485 printer or rs232? [whichever it is, the baud rate is wrong where you look in the program depends on the type of printer it is]
if you press and hold the feed button on the printer while powering it up, it will print out its settings for you.
setting baud rates on uniwell is not for the faint hearted as, if you dont have the manual, its guesswork with a seies of yes and no's

Hopefully someone else on here can give better advice but I thought it best to let you know you are nearly there before you go round messing up all that you have achieved. Well done
Andy

Have you got a printer model?

It's either going to be an IRC or Local serial printer. Need to know which before we can change the correct setting for baud rate in the till.

If the cash drawer isn't firing when you cash something off, set your method of payment to fire both cash drawers (there are two drawer ports on these tills). To do this go to sp-124, select method of payment, Flag 1, and set A & B to yes.
If it's the NO SALE that's not firing the cash drawer choose SF-09 and set bits H & G to Yes.

Thanks guys

now have cash drawer kicking on cash sales and no sales

According to the self test on the printer i have the following for the "communication interface"

Interface Type RS232
Rx Buffer size 4K
Baud Rate 9600bps
Data Bits 8
Stop bits 1
Parity none
Handshaking DTR/DSR
Command CR Disabled
Data Received error Print ?

The printer is connected to CH:C port on the back of the screen

Where will i find the settings to enable the printer to work with the till?

Cheers

Also, how do i set up an open food button whereby i can just type in the actual ammount of the sale directly into the till

Cheers
