lol spotted that but thought of gordons gin !dunce
ok in [F0] do any of the numeric buttons work -ie do they display stars when pressed [hiding sign on code]
if so - all you need to find is the default location of the clerk id button when in standard keyboard layout
you specifically mentioned not signing in using [F0] - is it possible to sign in using [F1]?
sometimes its also possible to overlook the blindingly obvious - key in reg mode?
paper in printers? printers down and locked?
-must admit - im clutching at straws rather than telling u how to ram clear these tills as they are not for the faint hearted to set up from scratch - specially if weve missed something obvious first

Thanks Andy

Just got in from workso will have a look when ive had a cuppa.

If all else fails, setting one up from scratch isnt a problem. Ive done it before and no doubt will have to do it again.

There seems to be quite a lot of these old units knocking about in my area and people are always asking me to get them up and running, but this issue has got me stumped.

Ill let you know how i get on

Iain

OK

When in F0 and F1, the numeric Keys are unresponsive. Led is unlit and message on screen is IR Done etc

Some one suggested holding down the bottom left 3 keys, turning on and off.

When i do this the Led glows red, screen has nothing on it, numeric keys now work, and whatever number i press shows up in the top right corner of the screen, but they are in clear ie 2------5 but the clerk key is unresponsive.

ive tried in all key positions, even the s position but with no joy

i have noticed that the printer feed button works when the till is in this state !what !what

That sounds like the machine has lost it's flash program and is booting off the EPROM instead. I'll dig one of these out tomorrow and have a look for you, but I've been off-line for a few days with personal matters.
