UPLOADING PLU/EAN CODES THROUGH PC LINK.
Hi all,
I'm a newbie to the forum.
Been scouring the net for info on uploading PLU/EAN codes to the 307 in bulk.
Not sure how to do it, looking for some guidance.
I have tried the following.
I've formatted the sd card in the till.
Put the sd card in my pc and extracted the PLU file.
I have tried importing PLU file in excel using developer options to use the same XML format.
Then pasted all 2000+ PLU/EAN Codes and descriptions in the right order, according to the layout.
Then exported the file back to the sd card.
Placed it back in the till and tried to load all programs and all ram.
But I get nothing.
I've also tried importing the sd card to PC LINK software but I cant see them.
Is there an easy way to import PLU/EAN etc in bulk to the till or must I scan and type them all in manually.
Also is there any one who knows the correct settings for an AGOX AS-8120 scanner.
I purchased 2 tills with 2 pre programmed scanners, from the net.
But the scanners are not set and neither were the tills.
I got the settings on the till set from a post on this forum.
4800, 7, 1, odd
I eagerly await you replies.
Kind regards,
tidy8
For the scanners, you'll need to find a programming sheet to scan in the codes to set them up with the same settings as the till, or alternatively find out what the factory settings for the scanners were and program the till to match. I don't know what the factory settings are for those as I've never used them. You could also do what I tell customers when they insist on buying stuff from the internet thinking they got a bargain; go back to whoever you bought them from and get the settings. Especially if they were sold as all set up.
As for the software, it's free! Don't expect miracles. I don't support it, mainly because it causes so much hassle for no return.
Rant over!.
What you could do is create an item in the software and export it to the sd card. Then have a look at the format that has been created and copy and paste your PLUs in that way.
Normally the PClink software is the way to manage barcodes using EAN function (not PLU for barcodes).
Enter your products into PCLink and send them in a bulk lot to the register.
If they don't appear in the register, you probably have a mismatch between the firmware versions (PCLink from wrong country).
If you are trying to send a spreadsheet file to the register, you'll need to convert it to the same format as PClink database. The dealers will often have software to do this.
I've never used the SD card function to do it, so can't comment on that side of it. Always just used the Sharp software.
Super weird scanners but looking at a google search it looks like they are often paired together in Europe... So, what you need is a Sharp scanner cable (for hardware handshake spoof) and the proper codes to get it going.
Did you buy from a dealer or second hand?
Thanks Guys,
for your replies.
I contacted the seller and he reckons that they are setup by his IT guy.
I asked if I could speak to them, but they have declined.
They keep telling me to reset the device configuration settings and they will work.
They are full of sh*t.
The config is right and I've asked them the correct scanning sequence to reset the scanner.
But they cant tell me.
I've paid a supplier in perth to send me 4 new configured scanners and he has programmed all ean codes on the sd acrd for me.
$1250 for 2000 eans and 4 scanners , bargain if you ask me.
Pc link is easy to add single additional items as you get them, but sharp really needs to find a better way to upload bulk lists.
Thanks for your help.
