UP-3300 Backup/Restore & key layout

I hope you dont mind me contacting you.
I have been programming my UP-3300 a little bit. It has been set up for years and run relatively well but I find it very hard to get anyone to service/repair it in Dublin.

I can put it into service mode via the master reset method and select program reset.
I am trying to activate a certain function from the free key layout which was somehow disable in the past.
I go to -> Free Key Layout -> Function-3 -> here i select function key list number 41 and try to assign it a positon on the display but all I get is a 'err corr' in place of the 41 key.
Do you know how I might enable it again?
any help much appreciated

Also do you have any knowledge about taking a backup of my up3300. Its the BNC version.
Where can i get/but the backup/restore software and what cable do I use?
