We have 8 SHARP XE-A213 tills in the school canteen.
When a certain button is pressed (Value deal) for a school meal a price is shown on the till. When another button is pressed (free child) and the till drawer is opened then the previous amount is set to zero and the free meal is recorded. See attached picture.
This works ok on 3 of the tills but the other 5 record the free child as another value deal and not a free child so it doubles the price.

I am using the PC-Link XE-A203/A213 (Version 1.01) Easy Programming Tool on a laptop with Windows XP.

What I have tried to do is to take all the information from one of the tills where the information is correct and using the above tool transferring the data to the other tills.

The information that I want (free child) is not transferring over.

Does this tool take ALL information from the tills or just certain bits?

The pc link software won't transfer the free key layout, which is what you need to get that working. I'm assuming the free child button is either just a payment button or an autokey.
There is another program called posutility which will transfer things like that and/or the complete image of a till.

Thanks for your answer porty

This I do not know. I have been given the job of programming these tills and do not know the first thing about them.

There is another program called posutility which will transfer things like that and/or the complete image of a till.

Looking at the training manual for the POS Utility, I cannot see listed the tills that I have. Will this software work with the XE-A213 which has a USB interface?

Posutility version 5 will. Well it will according to the Sharp website! I've never tried it with one of those.
Pm'd you too.
