Sharp UP700 Promotion table & Overlap Clerks

Hi, can anyone help me with this?

I've recently started using promotion tables which seem to work fine, that is until a clerk removes their key from the till before finalising the transaction. On reinserting their key the discount that had been previously applied vanishes. In addition to this, those items that are on the promotion table can not be voided individually (apart from a subtotal void).

If the transaction is entered in the till without the key being removed then no problems described above apply.

Thanks,

David

Is this just a stand alone 700 or part of a network?
You'll need to make sure file 81 Overlapped Save Buffer has a value in it. That creates file(2)205 Overlapped Mix & Match Save Buffer. Just make it as high as the machine will let you.
To get there, goto SRV mode, Setting, 10 File and down to 81. Then put in your value and then TL.

Thanks for your help,

the 700's that I'm trying to do this on are all stand alone units. I have four, one of which has additional memory, the others just have the standard amount.

Having tried what you said on all the machines, the standard tills either lack the memory to create even one record or will only let me create one. The till with the additional memory lets me create 81.

However I am still having the same problem on the till with the memory. Although this would be irrelevant unless
I could get all four tills to work the same as it would cause problems having different setups in the same shop. I remember being told that the memory for the 700's is very expensive and if buying more is the only option then I think I might have to scrap the promo tables and use standard plu's for multibuy discounts etc.

Thanks,

David

Sometimes it depends which order you create the files in. Try creating the overlapped clerk files again and see if that creates the overlapped mix and match properly.
You might be able to create more space in the other machines by removing some files you don't need. Do a back up before you do anything though! Overlapped clerks take up the most room unfortunately.
I have some 2mb memory boards that I can let you have for a reasonable price. Need to check how many I have!

That worked a treat, Thanks Porty it's much appreciated!

I've taken a reading of the file tables from one of the registers without the memory. It seems that there are a number of tables that have been allocated records that are not being used. I could try removing some, but I don't know which file creates what tables, I have a programming manual, but I don't think its for UK spec machines as the file tables listed don't pass 191.

I am interested in any memory you might have though, it's probably the best option.

Thanks again,

David
