Hello

i have a Sharp UP-X300 with a receipt printer that shows on the display as offline, however I have been told the receipt printer works on the other till fine.

The receipt printer is a Citizen and I originally assumed that the baud rate was wrong, but that's blown out of the water going by what I was told.

How can I get in and check the receipt printer settings on the till itself, sorry Sharps are its pretty alien to me !dunce

Cheers

from the wording of your question, i assume its a printer shared by [at least] two machines?
if so, is it offline on the terminal its directly connected to - or the remote one?
if its the direct one then look at baud rate etc - slow it down as much as you can [im no sharp engineer, this is just stuff ive learned over the years]
if its the remote one - then consider the quality of your irc network as well as just concentrating on printer settings.

appreciate the reply !wave , its connected locally via serial. baud rate is 9600

The sharp has 3 serial ports, tried in all 3, apparently the receipt printer works on the other till when directly plugged in.

however now I'm thinking this terminal maybe a slave and it may actually be setup to print to the remote printer rather than something that's connected locally.

I was looking at trying to get into the epos setup to check, but I've no idea where to start on a sharp
