Go to pgm2, setting, media then cash and make sure the option to open the drawer is set to yes.
Why Sharp set it as no as standard I don't know!

That got me the first time too. The bloody thing comes with a drawer!! I'd understand if it was an ERA750 since it might be a basic wait station for orders only.

Thanks for the tips again guys!

Ok here's another one for you all....
I have over a thousand items to list in the till and have worked out how to allocate PLU Menu lists to the free key preset buttons to fit them all in, but I am a bit concerned that when I plug the barcode reader back in after programing is complete will I have to
A)Scan product barcodes and link them to each item.
B)Have to set items up one by one again.
I know I cant add barcodes now with the items as I am using the serial port for programing....

This will be fun for you!
The 700 doesn't link a barcode to a plu, it uses the barcode as the plu number. You'd need to either type all the barcode numbers in manually into posutility, or use the learning facility on the 700 to store them as they're scanned and then go back and edit them.
Alternatively get a cheap wedge scanner to connect to your pc and scan them into posutility that way.

Ah this is a simple fix, we need to change the programming of the cash key to open the drawer heres how: Turn key to PGM2 go down to "setting", hit enter, go down to "media" hit enter, first one displayed "cash" just hit enter again, cash is displayed again, hit enter, scroll down to where it says "drawer open", press your sub total key (ST) change it so YES is highlighted, then press your total / cash (TL) key TWICE this takes you back to "cash" now press cancel twice, the printer should print confirming your change turn key back to reg and now when you ring up a sale then press cash or total, the drawer should open :)
