Hi there,

I have acquired a Sharp UP-700 cash till as part of a pub takeover but I can't seem to change any of the details, i.e. business name, pricing discounts etc. I have been able to delete some of the products listed but can't add any new ones either.

Could anyone let me know how to do these things please. I have both of the manuals but there seems to be a code which I don't have to allow me to do the admin on the register.

Thanks in advance and kind regards,

Andy.

It's stand alone.

At what point do I enter the code to get into srv mode? I only have one clerk key and OP,SM and MA operator keys.

Thanks Andy.

You cant get into SRV mode with the keys you have, you need an SRV key, (you can make your own by filing the first 'step' off the MA key). SRV mode is one step beyond PGM2 position.
When you put the clerk key in and turn the key to PGM2 are there exclamation marks (!) beside Reading, Setting etc? If there are, that clerk has been programmed to not be allowed to change anything.
If so, either see if you can find more clerk keys and keep trying them to find the one that allows programming (the till came with 12 keys), or try and make the SRV key then you can put a clerk sign on button on the keyboard and sign on that way.
There is another way, but it means deleting and recreating the clerk file in SRV mode and if you start playing about in there you can really mess things up!

Thanks for this but when you say 'file the first step off the MA key' I presume you mean this is the 'step' on the end of the key that goes into the key hole?

Regards,

Andy.
