Sharp ERA 420 .. Single/multiple Item cash sale help please

Hi

We have just inherited a Sharp ERA 420 till.. which we are trying to program, however we are having trouble setting up an Open Department Button where we can use the numeric keyboard for items that are on offer or are cash sales etc.,

Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Come on. This is supposed to be an open forum, so please post helpful answers and solutions in the forum, not on PM. The idea is for people to be able to search and find answers - which they can't do if you insist on replying in private.

It's a service setting to assign a department key to the free key layout on a 420. Good luck.

You can assign a department key to the keyboard in pgm2 mode, but you do need the manual to see how the keys are numbered to place it correctly ie. plu key 1 is not key position 1 (confusing I know). However there are other ways to do this. I'm assuming the 6 departments already assigned to the keyboard are being used, and you need to add another department to record open sales. You could create the new department, then make one of your existing PLUs open and assign it to that department.
If you have the manual with the keyboard key positions (page 14 in the UK manual), then I can give you instructions how to do it by department. If not I can do it the other way.
