We have an older SHARP 2386S from a previous owner and recently had to replace the ink roller. Upon putting it back in, the register tries to print and we immediately get a beep, which we can only stop by turning the register off. I believe the roller to be the correct one (IR90/91). None of the other keys work, and the register and journal feeds try to print, but the entire roller and feeding apparatus shifts slightly to the right, and we get the dreaded beeping noise. Help!

Hi,

The first thing to try is turn the cash register off, remove the ink roller completely, then turn it back and see if you still get the beep. It won't do it any harm to be turned on with no roller and it will confirm wether the roller is the problem or not. If it turns on and functions fine then we know it's either the wrong one or incorrectly fitted.

hope this helps.

Kind regards
