Hi everyone, new here but the forum seems very helpful.

I need to buy a replacement touch screen for a Sharp UP-X500. I am replacing this
for a friend after a member of his staff decided to try and clean the bottom of the
screen out with a knife

There is no problem with the fitting I just need to find out who supplies them at a
competitive/cheapest ;) price.

Thanks.

You could try ebay etc for it. You might get lucky. The x300 and x500 use the same screen. If not, then it'll have to come from Sharp.
If you're used to changing laptop screens, the x500 is a bit more involved. Do take pics/make sketches. Also, make sure you keep it clean. Nothing is more frustrating than putting it all together and finding a hair between the touch panel and the lcd!

If you want to replace this touchscreen so you have to search on internet. There are many different sites available for replacement. If your POS touchscreen system is not working properly than you have to replace this system.

You're boss wasn't Welsh by any chance? Guy I used to work with would scrap a machine as soon as he saw it.
Mind you, he spoke English.
