also, since it is a UP700, it has a journal roll. This will show every single transaction, so just unroll the journal paper off of the black reel and run through the print out to see where and when any voids were performed.

Of course the one big problem you might have is even if you lock down the voids, the person doing them might be the one who has the manager key!
Don't want to worry you or anything, but I've seen it!!

Thanks for your help on this.

In our situation I think limiting the void function will do the trick - so that is great news.

The other thing we are also trying to do which we do not currently do is give the till operators seprate black keys.

We haven't done this prevoiusly as we run tabs and from what I can see the tabs are attached to the keys? I the any way to link tabs to the till and not the black keys??

I think what you are looking for is overlapped clerks. That way a clerk can start a transaction (not necessarily a tab), take their key out, someone else can do a sale, then the original clerk can put their key back in and carry on with their sale.
The tabs can be set in two ways. First, they can be set so that anyone can open a tab, add items then store it, then anyone else can come along and add to that tab. Secondly, they can be set so that only the clerk that opened the tab can add to that tab, (hope this is all making sense!).
To make these changes though, you'll need a service key. The other problem could be lack of memory. If your 700 hasn't had extra memory put in and you're using tabs you'll be lucky to get three overlapped clerks.
