How to tract void on the till.
Hi I am trying to tract what has been voided off our till.
We are running tabs on a weekly basis but are concerned that some tabs maybe voided off at the end of the week rather than being cashed off and paid.
Is there anyway to tract what is voided from the till in a report?
Or anyway to restrict voiding?
Any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks
First of all look at your ordered total compared to your paid total on your end of day and end of week reports. There should be some difference because of legitimate mistakes but not a big difference.
You can restrict who voids or remove voiding all together. Which model do you have so I can tell you what to do.
We are using a Sharp UP 700.
I can see that on the x reading it sometime comes up with a VD total from looking at the internal till roll this does not always add up to the total of the voided transactions – is the little VD total only if an item has been voided from a tab?
Also I have noticed from reading the manual that you can put the till in MGR Void mode to void off a cashed off transaction and this also appears on the X reading.
Not really sure on the different types of voiding.
It would be grate if you could let me know how to restrict the voiding function.
Thanks
A vd void is an error correct i.e. an error within a sale and corrected within a sale, called a 'No issued void' in Sharpspeak. Once a table is stored these voids can't be done.
Once a table is stored then reopened a void can be done, but this is called an 'Issue item void'. I won't go into what you can do in case I give people ideas, but you can work it out.
To put voids under manager control go to PGM2, 02 Setting, 10 Optional, 1 Func. Prohibit.
Come down to the two voiding methods I mentioned and press the decimal point to change it from public to limited. You may want to leave 'No issued void' as public to speed things up for legitimate mistakes within a sale.
Once you've done that, the 'Limited' voids will only work when the key lock is in the manager position.
