This is my first posting asking something!
I seem to remember being able to include a PLUs free text on a bill print out. How I did it I can't remember. Anyone else done it with an open PLU with the free text option enabled?
P.s. I'm normally the one answering questions on here!

Hi porty,

Under the product if you tick the free text button then it displays another tick box. Untick this second box. Was only added on later versions.

Thanks for that. I'd worked it out myself. I just had a lot of fixing to do on a very badly programned system.
Although i did give the customer a shock by showing him the printer he bought from another dealer wasn't actually brand new as he had been told. It had a lovely big graphic logo of another restaurant in it!

Usually when I come across sharp pos systems which have been installed by someone else, I just think what where they thinking!

Do you do many v4 setups? I know some people don't like it at all, but I've spent probably last 8 years installing the different versions and just find it easy to use.

Where I work now doesn't do Sharp machines, but because of where I am (Edinburgh), there aren't many around that can handle Sharps and there are lots of requests asking if anyone can help. Especially since the Sharp dealer that everyone uses doesn't, and never has, programmed a Sharp machine in any decent fashion. Put it this way, on the the Pos 4 I was dealing with, so much hadn't been put on, the customer would have managed with a 700.
I got my Sharp certificate for Venta, but it's the same thing. It was the 'Description + Free Text' that threw me!
I find Pos 4 and Venta easy and logical to program too. I think it's the amount you have to do that puts people off.
