Hi folks, I currently have 2 Ser-6500II tills that I program using Samtools version 1.0.35.
I am also waiting for delivery of an SER-7000, and I was wondering if I could still use this software to program it, or if not, could you tell me which software I need please ?
I have searched around but dont seem to find any that is specifically for the 7000.

no u cant program a 7000 from samtools
any more than pc games are still available on audio cassette 
there is a utility for programming them but as its all self explanatory on screen and a qwerty keyboard,
why would you want one? [other than for back-up of course]
id be tempted to obtain a demo version of samstock, set up 2 sites the first with 6500 and the second with 7000 upload your products from 6500s then download em to the 7000s
you will still need to set up groups etc but will save hours of inputting
Thanks Andy, I did eventually find a copy of SPS1000/SER7000 software that looks nearly the same as my beloved Samtools 
but although the port settings are correct it just returns Error 99 when trying to communicate. More investigation needed there, but I will look for a demo version of Samstock and see if I can do as you say. If I can upload all the settings from one of the 6500II's to the 7000, that would be great.

you will not be able to copy over settings this way.
have you set up the ports for polling on the 7000?
check that first check on your 6500 for port settings by doing a 15 sub 3x/time in p mode.
looking at comms opt 50 -70
for baud rate parity etc.
then set these on the 7000 to match your scanner too.
Well tried my own gender changer instead of the one that came with the new till today and all is fine now 
I can connect to the 7000 and communicate with it OK, and have also managed to source an evaluation of Samstock. I have set up location 1 in Samstock to be the 7000 with the correct baud rates etc, but for the life of me I cannot see where to get the software to download the stock from the till ! I was imagining a "Download Stock" button somewhere, but after going through all the options I am still non the wiser.
I can add stock manualy, but obviously thats not what is required. Is this perhaps something to do with it being an evaluation copy ?
