sps2000 loyalty system/general advice

Hello,
Just come across this forum and I'm hoping you people can help answer some questions I have, rather than trying to bombard me with jargon and sales pitches.
I was given the sps2000 by my father as he was upgrading his register, he had the memory increased to hold 10,000 plu's and added a barcode scanner.
I have a retail shop so the scanner is a godsend day to day. I've added about 1500 items so far, but tbh I don't think I'm using the till to its fullest extent. When I'm trying to add more plu's I now get buffer full. I've not got any pages set up with plu's on either, which I don't know if that will affect things as the memory gets used up.
Also when I try and delete items it comes up with not zero, now as far as I am aware I've z'd all plu reports but will redo it and try to delete old plu's again. Though I do know this machine is tempremental, end of day takings, it often produces a z reading adding on the previous totals, keeping the z count the same, and it often deletes plu's from memory, when scanned shows no data, even though I know it's on system!.

I'd like to start a loyalty card system and would really prefer one that was linked to the register rather than a stand alone system, my till doesn't have the mag reader attached.

Does anyone know if it's possible to import some type of software/program for a loyalty system, that the scanner would read the customer card and add points, or am I best keeping it separate.

Finally any tips on using the till to it's fullest in a retail setting?

Many Thanks

WITH A TILL AS RELIABLE AS THAT ONE SOUNDS, MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO CUT YOUR LOSSES AND BUY SOMETHING THAT WORKS!

buffer full refers to the check buffer - not the max number of plus and if you want to be sure of everything being zero - try the memory clear option.

in terms of no data, every time you get new stock and the item is flash packed or on offer etc - they change the bar code.

loyalty system????? forget it - refer to first line of the answer
