My old SPS-2000 tills had started to give me issues. Touchscreen becoming unresponsive and out of calibration, re calibrate and it's fine for a few days then it's out of sync again!

Also on one till, the EPROM becomes corrupted if the power goes out, and yes, a new battery has been installed.

Anyway, I decided to upgrade to the SPS-2200.

Nice tills, but dare I say it, not as responsive as the SPS-2000!!! When pressing a button on the screen repeatedly, it will miss a few out, SPS-2000 did not suffer from this problem.

And finally, in the 1287 menu, the touchscreen is way out of calibration and I can't see an option to calibrate it in the several menu options in the fabled hidden 1287 menu!! But oddly, when the program has loaded, the touchscreen is in perfect sync!!

Running YCR`s latest EPROM.

Good till, nice to have more space on the screen, just a little let down by a slightly more sluggish interface.

Forgot to add that you CANNOT use a backup from an SPS-2000 and transfer it to the SPS-2200.

Would have thought Samsung my have provided some sort of migration provision for customers wishing to upgrade from one SPS version to the next considering they are both SPS series EPOS systems!!

But fear not, the SPS-2200 is basically identical in terms of programming, just a few extra features.

you forgot to mention that if you need the 2200's linking together, comms fails all the time unless you use cat 6 and a gigabit switch!
