Sps 2000 thermal printer install
Hello can any body help me ? I am wanting to connect a printer to my machine but only have a printer that seems
To have no setup documents on the Internet it seems it's a cheap import with no name on it other than a model number. That brings up nothing on the Internet. Does anyone know how to get the information to be added into the printer drivers folder on the sps 2000 ? When I do find drivers for other printers they seem to be for Windows and I'm obviously looking for sets of numbers I don't understand any one help me it would be very kind. Also on the sps 2000 someone told me printer can only be on the long lpt Port although when I go into the settings for printer it seems to have options for the lpt parallel then numbers 1- 6 sure these can also be used? I am trying to connect this one to port 1 (the 9 PIN one) when I go to the printer test on the self test it shows printing when it's disconnected it says busy .
I can't seem to find on here someone with same problems as mine with trying to obtain these number entries for the printer driver section ? Am I totally going off on the wrong track?
well, where do i start?
the"long lpt port" is a parallel port - for parallel printers
the 9pin dtype are serial ports, [com1 com 2 etc] and are for printers with an RS232 interface.
they are not the same and are not interchangeable.
to find the settings in your "cheap import", try holding down the feed button while turning on - this usually prints a test page followed by the current settings in the printer [or vise versa] [you may need to press the feed button a second time between the two printouts]
once you have found the correct settings , set the port parameters the same - as for the printer type - id start with epson tmt88 emulation and see where that gets you.
this is an unusual question for a cash register that is so old -it may be [playing devils advocate] that the old till wont support your new hardware?
after the port parameters have been set and the device selection, dont forget the printer routing
Thankyou so much !! I have found the print test page function on the printer it printed but unfortunately only shows baud rate has a range of codes but just lists a code followed by a country and out of the range of what the till allows on the letter input. Shows settings like dark or light print speed . Thanks for pointing me in the right direction though ..... looks like I need to get another printer
Thanks again
baud rate should be enough and is usually 115200
