Hello Everybody,
I'm writing from Fiji Islands as manager of an italian restaurant.
In 2008 we bought a SPS-2000 cause was a very cheap solution (not my decision...)
but after 3 years, in 2011, the SAM4S reseller here in Fiji suspended their services
of assistance and maintenance due to the lack of skilled and trained technicians.
We were very lucky that the machine worked almost fine until the original thermal
printer (Senor TP-288) got broken and hard to repair here in Fiji.
Luckily we had in storage a replacement printer, Ellix20S, supposed to be a kitchen
printer (before the Fijian techincian discovered to be unable to install it as kitchen
printer...).
Actually the problem is that the best technician we found to install the Ellix20S with
our SPS-2000 had NO clue how to do it. We provided them with programming manual
and operations manual, but they decided to do with their own mind.
Result is that they messed around with "printer driver selections", cancelling the original
parameters and putting in the parameters of TP-288 hoping this could work
(oh my goodness, they are TWO different printers, HOW can they work fine with same
parameters??...).
If anybody can help me reporting and re-copying here the parameters for :
ELLIX-20S printer, would be greatly appreciated.
The screen I need is that one of Printer Driver Selections, containing (for Ellix-20S):
- Initialize
- Compressed
- RED/REV
- Expanded
- Bold
- Underline
- Long Feed
- Full Cut
- Part. Cut
- Standard
- Logo
*** Furthermore, I was able, by myself, and with the GREAT help of this forum, to install
the Ellix-20s, BUT the printing on the paper is like a kind of stretched and compressed,
making difficult to read words and figures. Actually the printing is taking 3/4 of the width
of the paper roll and not 4/4.
Any suggestion how to expand the printing using al the width of the paper? (with ellix-20S).
Thanks in advance to ALL the friends that will help me. The best I can do is offering a full dinner
for 4 people in my restaurant as gratitude gift!

ellix 20 is a thermal receipt printer - not a kitchen printer 
put a printed order on a hot kitchen surface and the whole thing will be jet black in minutes!
that said - i cant help you with the driver section because in all the years ive used the 2000 ive never edited them - and can count the times ive visited the page on the fingers of 1 hand!
if it worked with tmt88 selected on the device connection tab then all you needed to do was change the printer type to ellix 20, plug it in and away you go!
try selecting tmt88 as a printer type [assuming you havent been playing in those settings too!] and see f it prints.
other setting likely to cause issue are com port settings/baud rate.
i think from memory, printers prefer 115200 whereas standard baud rate for a com port is 9600
you have to match the speed set in the printer with the port on the till - this is the most likely cause of the issue.
if you have screwed around with the settings under the driver tab - i am unable to help you as i dont have one to look at - worst case scenario - you could ram clear the machine to restore defaults - but then you will lose all your products and keyboard layouts etc.
dont forget to check your printer routing options too - though once again - if all that happened was the printer ailing, then that should already be set
