I have a pc with a usb to serial connector with pc utilty installed. I have connected and am still getting it freezing when trying to upload. The port number s are correct. Is there something I need to do on the till before uploading?

you have to set the port on the till up for polling

Hi,
yes done that too, It connects and looks to start uploading but then freezes

check in setup in the utility that the "flavour" of 1000 matches the register that it is connected to
failing that, try uploading files 1 at a time this will trace what areas are causing difficulty

Tried that too. Each time it "times out" and then error 8
