SPS-1000 "locked"
Hi guys,
And thank you for this forum, I hope I will find a solution to my problems.
I bought a second hand SPS-1000 cash register and can't get it to work at all.
Everytime I turn on the cash register it would just BEEP and display errors. I have a copy of the manual and decided to reset the cash register.
Of course the guy did not give me the C key. I,Ordered it on ebay, and followed the steps on the manual to reset the machine.
hold Cheque, turn on and press the 4 corners. The register clears the memory, but instead of asking me what kind of reset I want to do (as per manual) it displays a message about the COM port.
Now I am thinking about connecting it to a PC, but I do not have a copy of the Software.
Any one here to give me a hand and help me diagnose the issue ?
I can copy the error messages here if needed.
Thank you
none of that makes sense
first thing to do after ram clear is to allocate memory
this is a critical step as it cannot be revisited once set - without ram clearing the entire machine
so get that right first.
Hi ptah I recently turned on an SPS 1000 and got gibberish on the screen. The terminal had been languishing in my basement fore about 8 years. I went to bed that night and left it plugged in. When I looked at it again the next day, I was pleasantly surprised to see that everything was OK. It turns out that there is a battery compartment on the bottom of the machine that holds a small battery pack similar to what is found in your home portable telephone. It takes about 12 hours for this to charge. Maybe you need a new battery.
Good luck.
