depends on your memory allocation -how many lines you allocated to electronic audit - if none are allocated -its start again im afraid you cannot change memory allocation without ram clearing the till.

if memory is allocated, i think there is a setting somewhere that turns it on - tbh i have never used it.

Exactly the procedure you suggest; SamEvent - Execute Now - Upload Journal

If there is a journal to read, then you will be able to access it in the Reports menu tab under Journals - SPS Journals. You will need to tell SamStock the till location and the register number in the text boxes at the top of the screen. I don't know why there is a date box, as the EJ is a rolling-data thing that will always just have the most recent lines of information from the till.

As Andy says, you need to have a) allocated memory to an electronic journal in the SER7000 S-mode Memory Allocation tab. You also need to have activated the EJ in the P-mode system options tab, also how you want the EJ to behave when it runs out of memory. If you have a retail environment, rather than a restaurant (which seems to be the norm for all of the Sams4s documentation), then you will soon run out of EJ lines. Mine is set to 100lines, which is typically 4 or 5 shopping baskets, bearing in mind that every action/report line is captured on the EJ. So you will want to have P-mode configured for the EJ to roll over the data, without audible notification or manual printing required by the cashier, when it runs out of memory.

Another point to note - the EJ is easier to read if you print it off the till (under the X-mode tabs), as all of the formatting comes out in HTML within SamStock. You can print it out from SamStock - but I've never done this.
